Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Smithfield Foods.
Production
The interview was easy and based on my production experience in poultry, working in a team environment, long hours, and easy overtime. We discussed weekend work. They have several companies on the property to provide PPE and a grill for lunch, depending on shift hours.
- Have you worked in production?
Production Supervisor
The interview process was pretty good and went easy. I met with different managers, did a tour, and met with the HR department. After that, they put me in a department for another supervisor to train me, but they don't really train you; they expect you to learn on your own.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join our company?
Assembly Line Worker
It was a really relaxed process. The interviewers were nice and treated me with respect. We even shared some laughs. I got to ask my questions, and they gave me helpful answers. Overall, it was a very friendly and professional experience.
- What motivates you to seek employment with our company?
