To start, you'll submit your application on the company's website. Then, Smith.ai's HR team will review it and send you a link for an online assessment. This assessment includes a few questions and a voice recording. If you do well, you'll proceed to a mock trial phase. You won't have a traditional interview, but instead, you'll join a Zoom call to conduct mock calls with people they set you up with.

I applied in November and passed my initial assessment. Then I did some mock calls after signing an NDA. I got an email congratulating me and offering me a job, and I filled out a quick questionnaire about my availability and start date. After that, I got an email with a link to schedule an offer call to go over the details and training. They sent the basic offer info like hourly pay, and a link to schedule the call. I was really excited to work for Smith.ai, but then things went south. The same day I had the offer call, I got an email saying they couldn't make the call due to unforeseen circumstances and to reschedule. I did, but the next email said they changed their hiring process, no longer have offer calls, and partnered with a new assessment provider, requiring me to complete a new assessment before next steps. I asked if this meant I was back at the beginning of the selection process, and they lied, saying no, I just needed to do the assessment. After I completed it, I got the standard 'thank you, we'll contact you if you match' email. Then, I received the rejection email: 'Unfortunately we are not able to extend a job offer at this time'. I reapplied and got the same assessment link, confirming they had indeed sent me back to the start. Glad I didn't quit my job.
