The application process involved 2 rounds. First, I had an interview with the team lead. Then, I had a second interview with the regional manager and the HR department at their Egelsbach location. Both conversations were on equal footing, conducted fairly. All my questions were answered thoroughly. I felt valued at all times.

The whole interview process took about a month. First, I had a remote interview with the Sales Manager. They mentioned that people typically stay for about 1.5-2 years and then move on, suggesting it might not be the best place for those looking for long-term internal growth. About two weeks after that, I had a second interview where I needed to do a sales presentation for a hypothetical company, acting as a sales consultant to address their production issues. When I inquired about MBA or general career development opportunities, I was told there were none. I appreciated their straightforwardness.

Behavioral Technical Other

So I applied through their website for a sales role at SMC, but then got a message on LinkedIn from HR asking me to send my CV to someone else in HR. First, I had an interview with HR, then took some psychometric tests. After passing those, I had a second interview with the hiring manager and HR. We talked about what I knew about SMC, my technical skills, and if I planned to stay long-term, they said it takes two years to get a return on training investment. It felt like they were really focused on commitment. The process wrapped up when we talked about salary, which was way lower than I wanted, so we both decided not to move forward. Overall, it was polite but felt a bit disorganized.

Technical Coding

This was a pretty straightforward interview process. First, there was a recruiter call, then a technical screen where they asked typical questions about my studies and interests. They also asked if I had any prior knowledge about pneumatics. Lastly, I was given a catalogue test.
