The interview process was straightforward, and the questions were not difficult. They were very cooperative throughout. The steps were: Technical Round, then Manager Round, and finally HR round. Salary is negotiable.

Behavioral Technical Coding Case

The interview process wasn't super relevant to the JD for a QA AVP. They didn't ask anything about Test Management - Planning, Strategy, or Estimations. It felt like one interviewer was more of a TL. The interview flow was a bit all over the place, starting with logical thinking, then coding, then SQL, and not really covering testing responsibilities. They asked logical thinking questions, which is usually for campus recruiting. My suggestion is for recruitment/interviewers to improve their skills, especially for senior roles. They should ask relevant questions based on the JD, or update the JD to reflect the need for all-around skills. There were no questions about people or team management.

Technical Behavioral Coding System Design Presentation

I was contacted by Disha Consultant (Mahendra) and interviewed at the Smartstream Office in Andheri West, Mumbai. My preparation for SQL, which I found out about from an interview question, was really helpful. The interview had three rounds. The first was a Technical Round where I discussed my experience in QA Planning and Strategy, Risk and Issues management, SQL, Web Services Testing, Test Automation, Team Handling, and Client Interaction. I was asked how to automate color coding based on calculated fields, how to use joins with three tables, risk mitigation for late requirements, environment setup (HTTP service, App service, DB), and automation frameworks. The second round, likely with the Test Lead, had fewer technical questions but high-level queries about automating a given architecture (Browser, HTTP server, App Server, DB, Web service) and automating an e-commerce website. They were surprised I'd done manual performance testing (with a stopwatch). I was repeatedly asked about the transition from services to a product company and potential cultural differences. The third round, probably with a Senior Manager, was non-technical, focusing on my past experience, career aspirations, and suitability for SS. Overall, it was a good experience, and the process wasn't too tough; being calm and confident is key.
