It was a three stage interview process. First was a recruiter call to talk about my experience and salary. Then I had a call with the hiring manager where I was asked a product sense question, kind of like a case study, to see how I'd make a product strategy. They also asked some competency questions. The last round had four 45-minute stakeholder calls with people from Product, Design, Engineering, and a VP/Director. It felt like four more rounds but just competency questions. Overall it was a good process, the team seemed smart, and it felt like a real conversation. I didn't get the job because I messed up one part and didn't answer questions right, which was my bad. My advice is to be ready, listen carefully to the questions, and use the STAR method.

It was a pretty standard interview process. First, a recruiter screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a full loop and a take-home assignment. All interviews were 100% behavioral, focusing on classic behavioral questions and dives into your experience, like asking about a product strategy you managed. I got a positive impression of the interviewers and the company, and it seems like a good place to work. The only downside was the take-home assignment, where Smartsheet asks candidates to suggest a product enhancement. This is generally a flawed assignment type, but it's especially tough for Smartsheet given its complexity, as just understanding the product and finding areas for improvement takes a significant amount of time.

Almost all the questions the recruiter asked were repeated by the HM, just phrased differently. They were all about my experience using third-party tools as a PM, which I found strange. It felt more like they were doing user research on PMs and how they use tools, rather than actually assessing my skills.
