So, this whole interview thing was kinda all over the place. I ended up doing five interviews, and every single person I talked to said they would be my manager, which was weird. The recruiter was super flaky, like, they told me I wasn't moving forward, then hit me up a week later wanting another interview. Turns out, I was basically just a backup in case their first choice didn't take the job. Even after all those interviews, I got zero feedback on how I did or where I stood. When they finally said no, it was just a generic 'we're going with someone else.' Honestly, for a company like Smartsheet, I expected a much smoother and more professional hiring process.

The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a loop interview which included about 6 people from both the immediate and adjacent teams. This loop also had a presentation component, where a prompt was given in advance. Overall, the experience was positive, and the recruiter was very responsive. A surprising observation was that everyone interviewed with was White, which was unexpected given the company's location in Bellevue.

I found this marketing role on LinkedIn via an external recruiter. After a phone screen with her, I spoke with the internal recruiter. He scheduled an onsite interview for me within days. I felt the interview went okay but I wasn't thrilled with my performance. I followed up multiple times over the next two weeks with both recruiters, but haven't heard back. It's frustrating not getting any response.
