Had one call with the recruiter which lasted about 15-30 minutes. Then I had an online interview with the hiring manager that was about an hour long. After that, I met with three or four current employees who are CSAs or CSMs, each meeting was 30 minutes. Finally, there was a 1-hour presentation.

Behavioral Technical

I applied to SmartSheet because I'd heard good things about them. My first step was a recruiter phone screen. It went okay, but I was surprised they asked about my salary expectations so early on. They also "highly suggested" I learn the product beforehand, which is doable because of the free trial. But then, during the in-person interview, I found out knowing the software was super important, more than anything else. I work long hours at my current job and didn't have enough time to get as familiar with SmartSheet as they wanted. They claimed their training is great, so why is advanced product knowledge needed during the interview? Anyway, the in-person part involved meeting three people: one for general get-to-know-you, one for problem-solving using the product, and another to check my existing product knowledge again. They did provide lunch and the office had nice views, and the people seemed genuinely excited to work there. It's just too bad about the hiring process.

Case Behavioral

The team was super communicative all the way through. They gave me a tough case challenge, which I thought was a fair way to sort through candidates. The whole process gave me a really good feel for the company and its culture. I was very happy with how everything went.
