After applying for the SC Position on the company website, I received an email from a Smartsheet recruiter wanting to set up a phone screen. I replied the same day letting the recruiter know that I had selected the following Thursday on her online calendar for us to connect. When the day of the interview came around, I received an email from the recruiter, 15 minutes before our scheduled start time, stating that her "laptop shut down" and we would have to reschedule and to let her know my availability for the following week. I provided my availability for the following week within 15 minutes of receiving her email and she just never got back to me. I followed up on Monday, and then again on the following Monday and still nothing. I spent hours prepping, all to never even get the chance to interview. If the position is not hiring anymore or I am no longer being considered, at least have the decency to communicate that.

I was approached by the company, not sought out prior to the initial contact by their in-house recruiter. Typical initial phone screening to gauge interest, then actual phone interview to learn about each other, which leads to an in person and potentially web conference meeting

So, it's kinda long but really worth it. A few steps involved here. You start with a quick chat with the recruiter on the phone. After that, you hop on a call with a team member, lasts about an hour. If that goes well, they send you a deck with a client situation and you gotta prep a presentation, like 30 mins. Then, after you present, a bunch of interviewers grill you with quick questions about the deck. Finally, you have one last chat with someone higher up and that’s it. It moves fast though, even though it's a lot of steps. And you have a helpful recruiter guiding you through it all.
