First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Smart City Locating.
Agent
It was a month-long, sort of tough process. I had to send in six videos, plus a cover letter, resume, and other stuff. Then I had my first interview and got really good feedback. I felt great and comfortable during it. I was really excited. A few weeks later, I was invited for a second interview, but it was a totally different vibe. HR actually said in the email, "don't worry, it will still be totally chill." It was not chill at all. My only real issue was that they described it inaccurately, which I think can set people up to fail. The questions were difficult and standard corporate interview style, even though I was super prepared and had done a ton of research. I didn't feel comfortable with the interviewer at all. It was confusing because it was the opposite of what they claimed. A week later, I found out they weren't moving forward. I was really bummed because I honestly think I would have been a good fit and was excited about the possibility of working there. Oh well. Good luck!
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What led you to your previous role?
Agent
I interviewed for this role without knowing too much about it, other than I'd been told I was a 'good people person' and would excel in sales. I had also considered working in apartment locating myself after using such a service. Upon arrival, I met the whole office staff and then spoke with the CEO. She quickly made me feel comfortable, even using some curse words, and explained the apartment locating business. She offered me a job once I got my real estate license, which I accepted in June and plan to stay with.
- Are you familiar with the local area?
Agent
They advertised on social media for Agents, and you had to send an email saying why you'd be a good fit for Smart City. I was brought in and talked with Cassie for about 10 minutes about my life and hobbies. A lot of the other Agents were coming in as I was leaving, and they all seemed really friendly and welcoming.
- Can you tell me why you want to work for Smart City?
- Who are you and what unique value do you offer to the team?
