The interview included basic behavioral questions, like discussing a current project. Then there was a coding challenge to implement multiplication without the operator. They also reviewed OA questions, asked some HTML questions, and covered OOP principles. Database concepts like primary/foreign keys and normalization were also discussed.

About a week after I applied, I got an email to do a technical exam. I had 4 days to submit it, and 48 hours to work on it once I started. It had 3 questions, 2 LC-style and 1 SQL, and took about an hour. The day after I sent it back, they emailed to set up an interview. It was a bummer because the soonest I could schedule it was two weeks out, so I had to wait a long time, but oh well. The interview was split evenly between behavioral and technical stuff. Mostly typical behavioral questions, and for the technical part, they went over my exam answers, asked some questions about my language experience and understanding code, and had me share my screen to write a little function in an editor or IDE. The whole thing lasted a bit over an hour. They said I'd hear back in two weeks and that any second interview, with the VP of programming and a Lead Engineer, would be more about personality and soft skills. They assured me the technical part was done. I didn't get a second interview and they didn't tell me why.

So we had a take home coding challenge first, and then they ask you about it in the interview. The interview itself is like, half behavioral and half technical. What's crazy is they also want your references to submit feedback before the interview even happens. I feel like that's way too much and totally unnecessary, plus it uses up your references' goodwill real fast since they have to spend like 5-10 minutes each filling out stuff in their system. They should seriously only do that after they're thinking of making an offer, not before you've even interviewed.
