First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sky.
Sales Advisor
The interview had two interviewers, one asking questions and the other taking notes. They asked standard questions for the Sales Advisor role. Make sure you're prepared to talk about customer care, resolving conflicts, teamwork, and sales techniques. Have examples ready.
- Can you share an instance from your previous job where you handled a conflict?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer.
- How do you approach teamwork in a sales environment?
Sales Advisor
This was a really drawn-out interview process. It started with a scenario exercise as part of the application, then I had to record myself answering some questions. After that, there was a phone interview, and the final stage was a face-to-face meeting. The whole thing took months from start to offer.
- What value can you add to our company?
Sales Advisor
I applied online, which was pretty simple and easy. The next day, I got an email asking if I'd be interested in a telephone interview. Later that same day, I got a call to schedule it. I couldn't make the dates they offered because I'd be at work. They said they'd call me back ASAP when the following week's schedule was open, which I figured would be the next two days. They didn't. So I had to call them. I managed to get a date and time that worked. They called me 15 minutes after the scheduled time, and I started to think they'd forgotten, so it wasn't the best start. The lady seemed nice at first and explained the job title, salary, and working hours. Throughout the whole interview, I could hear a lot of background noise from her end; it was obviously someone in a call center doing the interview. I constantly had to ask her to repeat herself, and I felt like she was getting annoyed because of her tone. She also asked me to repeat myself a few times. To start, there were about 3-4 competency-based questions. After I answered them, I was asked a follow-up question on my answer (I thought I was prepared, but I could have done more). Then I was asked what I know about Sky, why I want to work for them, and what I think my job role will be. After the interview, she put me on hold for 20 minutes, then came back and said, 'Okay, we'll email you the results, thank you.' I don't understand why I had to be on hold for so long.
- Can you describe a time you overcame an obstacle to reach a goal?
- What makes you skilled at problem-solving?
- In your opinion, why are you good at problem-solving?
