Customer Service Representative
There were multiple stages to the interview. The first stage was a quick call, and then they asked more stuff. They asked a bunch of questions, and I answered them. The questions were not too hard but not too easy. Overall, it was a pretty good but average experience.
- Hello, what is your name?

It was a pretty involved and busy assessment day, starting with a group activity and a maths test. The group experience was good, followed by a main interview where I didn't need my CV. It lasted about half a day and also included a role-play exercise. I had a team leader for the assessment day who was really helpful, and I got to learn more about the company and how things work.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- What are your areas for improvement?
- Can you complete group exercises to build something together?
Customer Service Representative
It was an unprofessional application process, to be honest. There were four stages: first the initial application, then some multiple-choice scenarios, followed by a pre-recorded interview, and finally an assessment with someone from recruitment via video call because of COVID. Everything was going okay until the assessment. I joined the video meeting 10 minutes before it was scheduled to start, just to make sure everything was set up correctly. But then the interviewer greeted me with, "Oh, you're early." She then complained that her room was too bright, even though I had made an effort to dress professionally, she hadn't. She also mentioned that someone from Sky usually joins these assessments to talk about the company, but not today, and didn't explain why. Throughout most of the assessment, she kept complaining about her internet connection being slow. At one point, I couldn't even hear what she was saying. We somehow got through the competency-based questions and then moved on to a role-play call. The scenario was supposed to be about a customer whose internet wasn't working, and I needed to guide them through rebooting their equipment. I did that, but then the role-play shifted to the customer complaining about their internet constantly dropping and asking what I was going to do about it. I was only given instructions on how to reboot, not any information on how to handle ongoing internet issues. Honestly, given the technical difficulties she was experiencing during the interview, this pretend call felt less like a role-play and more like an opportunity for her to vent. It was probably the worst interview or assessment I've ever been through.
- Tell me about a time you recently received excellent customer service.
- How would you handle a customer who is repeatedly experiencing internet problems?
- What steps would you take to instruct a customer to reboot their internet?
