i had two rounds of interviews. the first was a phone call with the hiring manager, and then i met with the team on-site. i really enjoyed the process, and it wasn't too long. they gave me a good understanding of the job and the types of positions i'd be recruiting for.

I got reached out to on LinkedIn for a job at SkillStorm. I had a call with a Campus Recruiter, then another call with the Executive VP of Recruiting, and finally an on-site interview with the EVP and two other Recruiters. The whole thing was pretty smooth and I got feedback fast after the on-site. It was all very straightforward, and they kept me in the loop about what was next and when they wanted someone to start. On-boarding was easy too, and they were cool when I had issues with getting timed out on some of the stuff.

I was contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter about a Technical Recruiter role in Indianapolis. I initially ignored it but later reached out to see if the position was still open. The recruiter (Jared) confirmed it was, and we had a brief 15-minute call a day or two later where he asked if I was still interested. I confirmed my interest and requested an in-person interview at the Indianapolis office. The following week, I attended an interview scheduled with a Vice President and an account manager. However, the VP was out sick, so I ended up speaking with the account manager and another technical recruiter instead. This conversation felt less like an interview and more like I was assessing them. They asked informal questions like "Where do you usually eat your lunch?" and "Do you like sushi?" but didn't discuss the role in much detail. As the meeting concluded, I reiterated my interest but also expressed my desire to speak with the VP who managed the office. They assured me this would be arranged. Later that day, I spoke with the HR person again, repeating my interest and my request to meet the VP. He said he would follow up with the Indy team. A couple of days later, I received a short email from HR stating that after following up with the Indy team, they had decided it wouldn't be a good fit. I suspect my dislike for sushi might have been a factor, but I felt well-qualified and could have been a valuable asset. It was disappointing not to have a proper interview to discuss the specifics of the job.
