Customer Support Representative
The interview process for a basic job at Skilljar is tedious. They conducted 5 behavioral interview rounds, though the people i met were nice. Their recruiting team is not good at all, they were not able to provide accurate info about the process or the interview format and some invites had incorrect info. I followed up with questions and they never responded and after the final round they were never able to provide the status of my application even after a follow-up following the final round. They added more frustration to the whole process. A total waste of time(about a month), I would never apply here again.

Sales and Marketing
I'm not always happy to write not-so-positive reviews, but I hope this one can be constructive or helpful for others. I did read some reviews before going in, but I tried to keep an open mind despite some of the negative feedback. I have to say, I agree with several points made by other reviewers. Something felt a bit off, and the office seemed to lack privacy, though that might change with their relocation. I went through the interview rounds, and having done the Amazon loop, it felt pretty similar overall, except for the hour-long lunch, the 'tests,' free food, and parking. Actually, it was the only downtown interview I've had that didn't validate the expensive parking. Like another reviewer, I was given a random test on something I didn't find very relevant. They mentioned it wasn't a 'big deal if you knew it or not' and not a primary tool for the role, which I found a bit surprising and irrelevant. This is another point I heard echoed in another review. It was the only interview I've ever had (and I've had many) that didn't focus much on my actual work. On top of that, the 4-hour interview ended with almost an hour spent analyzing their company. For comparison, an interview I had the next day dedicated an hour to me presenting my actual work. It felt a bit like a freelance consultation. In all the companies I've interviewed with, I've rarely had a 'test' that involves doing work for the company itself, let alone any tests. I find it interesting because it's technically work that professionals get paid for and the company can benefit from, but I see another reviewer did something similar. That said, I did enjoy talking to some of the people. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with the CEO. From the beginning, she seemed somewhat disorganized and unprepared with her questions, and a bit annoyed. At one point, she jumped from one question to a completely random one that I could barely answer because it was off-topic and unclear. I understand there's a stigma about how some CEOs can be, but I've never had one make me feel unwelcome. At the end, she got up and walked away, and I was confused, thinking maybe she was coming back because in my entire career, no interviewer has ever walked off without thanking me for coming in, saying 'nice meeting you,' or even saying goodbye. That really bothered me, especially since I had taken a lot of time out of my busy schedule (and money) to interview with them. Needless to say, the interview ended on a negative note overall. I did find the HR employee the most pleasant. But since interviews are a two-way street, I was fine that the position didn't work out.

Account Development Representative
This was the best interview process I've encountered. I've been doing phone screens and on-site interviews with 5 companies in Seattle over the past month, and Skilljar truly stands out. The entire process was incredibly smooth, and I always felt informed, which boosted my confidence for each interview stage. My recruiter, Joe, was fantastic and extremely quick to respond to my emails. I had a phone screen with the ADR manager which was very conversational, focusing on my experience. Following that, I was given a prospecting exercise that was straightforward to complete. The next step involved an on-site interview, meeting different team members in 30-minute slots, totaling 3 hours. It was a unique experience to even meet the CTO! There were behavioral questions, but it felt more like a chat, and I really enjoyed talking with the team. I felt comfortable and like myself; it didn't seem like they were trying to trick me. Recruitment contacted me quickly to offer me a position, which I gladly accepted. The whole process, from beginning to end, took under two weeks. I'm really looking forward to starting at Skilljar!

Customer Success Manager
It started with a casual chat over coffee with the VP. Then, I had a phone screen with the team manager. After that, I did a presentation/demo for the manager. The final stage was a half-day loop with about 5-6 people from different departments, including the CTO/Co-Founder. Overall, the interview process was really thorough but moved quickly. I never felt like I was waiting around or had to chase people for updates. It was clear they put a lot of effort into making sure it was a good fit for both of us. The loop was the toughest part, mostly behavioral questions like "tell me about a time when...". The interviewers were never trying to trick me and asked thoughtful follow-up questions. What could have been a draining 4-hour interrogation felt more like interesting, casual conversations.
