It was a very detailed interview process with a lot of questions. They wanted me to break down my current work experience and also asked about my education, my pros and cons. They also touched on my people skills and selling skills. My advice is just be prepared.

Group Presentation

It was a group interview, and it started on time, but they didn't give us a heads-up on how long it would last. It went on for over two hours, which the interviewers themselves admitted was super long, and there was another group waiting for their turn. If I had driven and parked, I would have gotten a ticket because of how long it took. I felt really quiet during this interview because of some ignorant and racist comments that were made. When they asked about language skills, a white guy said he could speak Mandarin, and the interviewers were surprised, saying they thought he'd be or should be Asian. I mentioned I knew some Mandarin, and by the end, instead of using my name, they called me 'mandarin' because I spoke it and I'm Asian. The interviewers seemed really uneducated and self-centered. They brought up a 'slum' street and said they couldn't imagine being scared to walk down one, and one of us had to point out that people live there every day. They just brushed it off. It really upset me, and I regret not just leaving. It wasn't worth it, even if I got the job, after being treated like that. There was a lot of stereotyping, name-calling, and obvious favoritism. It was disorganized and poorly managed time-wise. It was embarrassing, to say the least. They also gossiped about people while they were right there, treating them like objects for their amusement. I don't usually complain, but this was unacceptable, and I hope management will be more careful about who they hire and stick to a schedule.

I applied online and got a call from Skechers for a phone interview where they asked me about customer service. Then, they invited me to a group interview at their office in Waterloo. The group interview was pretty chill and seemed to focus on being a team player. We had to pair up, chat, and then share with the group. After that, we had to create an ad for a shoe. Finally, there was a quick one-on-one interview where they asked me to talk about myself. The whole process was easy but took a while even though the interviews weren't long.
