Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SKDKnickerbocker.
Intern
It was very writing dependent. They asked a few standard interview questions like "describe a time you faced and overcame a challenge." But besides that, it was mostly asking questions about writing processes, writing resume, and communications style. As well as questions about what interests you about the work that SKDK does.
- What is your definition of a good writer?
Intern
Got referred twice, and even with a good PR school background and relevant political experience, the company ghosted me both times. I sent follow-up emails and did a write sample, but still no response. It felt super disrespectful to waste my time like that and not even reply. Left me with a bad impression of how this firm treats people. The interview itself wasn't even that tough.
- What makes you want to work at this company
Intern
I had a phone interview since I lived far from the office they were hiring for. It was really chill and they gave me a lot of good info. Felt like they already wanted to hire me before I even got the interview. The actual asking of questions was only about 15 minutes, and then I got to ask them stuff about the job. They offered me the job two weeks later.
- What makes you want this job?
- Do you have any questions for the team?
