The interview process involved a total of 4 rounds plus a mandatory Mandarin ability test. Initially, there was a round with a senior associate or counsel. Following that, a second round included an interview with four lawyers, one of whom was a partner. The third round was conducted with a partner, and the final round was with HR.

It was a standard city law firm assessment centre, with a group task, a written task, an HR talk about the firm and training contract, and a partner interview. They even gave us travel reimbursement in cash on the spot. Pretty standard stuff.

I had an online assessment exercise which was a case study (not Watson Glaser), then I had an interview with an associate and a partner. They asked general motivational questions. It's important to keep up with financial news and know some client names. Also, knowing which practice areas are bigger than others is very important.
