My application for a role in the SIXT product team was disappointing. After an initial conversation, I was asked to spend six hours working on a real business problem, which was openly described as a current challenge for the company. However, after submitting my work, I was quickly rejected without any further interviews or feedback. It seemed like my ideas were used without any real interest in hiring me. There's a clear difference between open case studies to assess skills and expecting candidates to solve real problems for free. The process at SIXT felt exploitative, and the company should reconsider its approach to treating applicants with more respect – not as free consultants.

The first round was pretty basic, mostly just asking about my background. Then I got a case study to work on, with a week to finish it. If they liked that, I'd get called back for another interview. After that, there were two more rounds if I passed.
