We had 3 interviews in total. The first was a phone call with the recruiter. Then there were two more virtual interviews via Teams. One was with the manager and the recruiter, and the other was with senior developers and the recruiter again. I got an email about the outcome.

Technical Behavioral Case Other

The interview process was quite long. It started with a hiring manager call, then another manager call. After that, there was a functional interview with case studies. This was followed by a round with two managers, one of whom was the hiring manager's +1. Finally, there was an HR call. The technical part was reasonable, but the HR part was overly intrusive about personal life, which isn't their business. It would be better to move the HR part earlier in the process to save time for technical managers and candidates. It seems many candidates are rejected at the final HR stage based on what I've seen.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

The interview process kicked off with a quick HR chat, which was pretty much a formality. Then, I had a solid hour with Bar Reiser, focusing on my technical background, particularly with Java. It was a good discussion. Next up was a take-home assignment that required me to think about both the technical architecture and business strategy. After I sent that in, I had an onsite meeting with the VP of Engineering. Honestly, this part wasn't what I expected. The conversation veered into C-level topics instead of what's relevant for an Engineering Manager. The questions felt off for the role, and the interviewer seemed to rush through them. The whole experience was a letdown, especially since I had to chase HR after every stage because the process wasn't clear about what was next. Pretty disappointing for a company of this size.
