This Data Scientist Gen AI role had a really long and messed-up hiring process that took more than two months. The HR person was great and super professional, and the interviewers were nice and I enjoyed talking with them. But the system itself was broken. It started with HR, then a tough take-home assignment that felt like free work, followed by two technical interviews that were basically the same, then an HR culture chat that felt weird and invasive because they weren't clear about things, and finished with a manager chat. After all that, they rejected me for a really dumb reason, saying I wasn't senior enough, which was the opposite of how I presented myself the whole time. This whole messy and slow process shows how disorganized they are, not that I did anything wrong.

I’m really disappointed with this hiring process, it felt so disrespectful. This is the first time I’ve had such a bad experience. It took almost two months to complete a detailed technical test that I spent a lot of time and effort on. The interviewer even said he liked my work and thought it was good. But I just got a generic rejection email with no feedback. It seems like they don't respect candidates' time and effort. It makes me wonder if they were actually hiring or just collecting ideas for their own use from the tests.
