Sales Executive
Started with a 30 min call with TA to see if I was motivated and talk about the role and company. Then had a 45 min call with 2 Regional Sales Managers, mostly about my motivations. Finally, another 45 min call with 2 Regional Sales Managers where they asked STAR method questions about my experience and skills. Decided not to proceed, felt like I'd be forced to hit quota instead of genuinely loving the platform/role. The deal sizes were small (£100-£300), meaning less incentive. The manager seemed to make assumptions about my current role/company instead of asking questions or asking for more details, which made me worried about their management style. Also, management was vaping during the interview, which I found unprofessional. The TA team was great throughout the process!

Sales Executive
It began with a recruiter call, which was pretty standard and went well. The first interview was a Google Meet with the hiring manager and their manager. They mostly went over my resume and asked about my past and current jobs, really digging into my experience. This first video call was supposed to be an hour but ran over by about 15 minutes because it was going so well. The third interview was the most challenging. I had to learn about a specific product and then do a role-play selling it with them. This lasted about 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of feedback and discussion about how I thought it went. They mentioned that if you're a natural salesperson or have prior experience, and you put in an hour or two the night before to really understand the product, you'll be fine. They don't expect perfection but want to see how you handle objections and present yourself.

Sales Executive
I saw the job on LinkedIn last July and applied on their site. A few days later, HR from Siteminder contacted me to set up a Google Hangout. The chat was good and friendly, and it felt very positive. I was motivated, and the idea of working at Siteminder excited me. From our chat, it seemed they would value my German skills more than my lack of sales experience and train me in the first three months. A few days later, I got an automated rejection email saying I lacked sales experience. This was weird since HR saw my CV (which has no sales experience) and still interviewed me. Fast forward to October, a recruiter reached out on LinkedIn about a sales position. Her client was Siteminder, needing a German-speaking sales exec urgently. I replied that I'd already interviewed but was open to another chat because I was still really interested in Siteminder. The recruiter said she'd talk to Siteminder, as they were 'really keen' to speak with me. A few days later, she said Siteminder had concerns and called me a 'jobhopper'. I was surprised they'd get a second chance after I showed interest for so long, which should indicate my motivation. Plus, if they'd hired me four months prior, I'd have already generated revenue, and holding vacancies that long costs the company money. She went back to Siteminder, and they declined. I thanked her and kept the door open. The recruiter contacted me again over Christmas, which was inappropriate timing. She asked if I was still interested in Siteminder (surprise, the job was still open!). I declined, saying I'd used Christmas to re-evaluate my career and wanted to pivot to marketing, specializing in a specific branch, but appreciated her reaching out. She then got petty, insulted me, called me a 'jobhopper,' and said I'd have been a 'waste of Siteminder's time,' among other insults. I was shocked by a stranger judging me without knowing my career history or ambitions. I was even more shocked she felt it okay, representing Siteminder, to attack a professional. That was pretty much the end for me wanting to work there. It's July again, and another recruiter approached me on LinkedIn for the same Siteminder job. I declined and blocked her. I've lost any motivation to work for Siteminder due to how they treat candidates and use unprofessional agencies to pick petty arguments. As I said, I was motivated before Christmas for a second conversation and was happy to reconsider, but their blatant accusations left a sour taste. Also, vacant positions for long periods are a red flag, possibly reflecting on the company, not candidates. An employer who treats candidates poorly during interviews likely behaves the same internally. So, no thanks, I don't want to work in an unprofessional and disrespectful environment.
