Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SITA.
Software Engineer
The process started with an initial technical screen which was an OA, followed by a video interview, then a group assessment centre, and finally a call with the manager. The tech screen was very simple and the video interview consisted of normal behavioural questions. The group assessment was a bit odd and not really job related. The final call was stated to be with one person but it was actually with two people. The company tends to ghost candidates if they are not successful and the compensation offered is very low.

Software Engineer
The interview process was really quick and straightforward. The people were super nice. I just wish they'd been more upfront about what to expect in the interviews, though they turned out to be pretty simple. First, there was an online assessment with 3 basic coding questions (one in Python, one in any language, and one theory question). Then, a group interview where we introduced ourselves and discussed a simple prompt, followed by a group presentation. After that, an individual interview that covered my experience, education, CV, and general technical knowledge – it felt like a mix of HR and technical questions, not too deep. Finally, I got the offer by email.
- Can you tell me about your previous work or internship experiences?
- What is your understanding of Agile Development?
- In your opinion, where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Software Developer
I applied through LinkedIn and the whole process took more than 4 weeks. I interviewed at SITA in Gurgaon in June 2018. It was a 5 stage process with initial screening, an online coding test, a technical interview, a managerial interview, and an HR discussion. It was a great experience. The recruitment team kept me updated on everything related to my application and built a lot of trust with me throughout. They communicated really well. The technical discussion was over Skype and lasted about an hour, with the hiring manager on company premises. It felt more like a casual chat than a Q&A, and he really dug into the details on my resume. I got positive feedback right after from HR. The managerial discussion happened after the technical one and was also a pleasant experience. She asked typical behavioral questions about challenges I'd faced and how I handled them, my strengths, and weaknesses. I'd advise candidates to be honest, talk positively about their skills and experiences, and if they lack experience in something, show willingness to learn and mention how they've learned things before.
- Can you describe your current role and what your responsibilities are?
- Can you provide details about your technical expertise?
- What are your thoughts on recent technological advancements?
