So I applied online and then a recruiter hit me up to set up a phone call. When he called me, he sounded really uninterested, like he didn't even want to be there. Right off the bat, he asked me 'why'd you apply' instead of like, 'how are you' or anything else. It was a weird vibe.

The interview process involved multiple rounds plus a project and demo. The project wasn't necessarily hard, but my experience was really negative. The product wouldn't install correctly, so I pulled all-nighters and even paid for my own cloud server because theirs wasn't working. It felt rushed and took up way too much time, between the projects and the interview rounds. I spent over 8 hours interviewing and didn't get the job, so I wouldn't recommend it. The fact that they expect unpaid work is pretty ridiculous. Communication with the recruiter was poor, and they had unrealistic time expectations for the interviews.

I started with a one-hour phone screen with my future manager to discuss my grasp of BI tools and their product. I'd done my homework, so I felt good about it. He asked about the product roadmap. Since it went well, I was asked to do an assignment (data import, model, dashboard) and told the VP of Sales might call. I had a 30-min chat with the VP of Sales about the product. The assignment was a bit tricky with data modeling, but I managed it within the deadline, getting some email help from my manager on specifics. They liked it and invited me for a panel interview with the VP of Sales, manager, and another engineer. This 45-minute session covered the sales process, my assignment, and work samples. I wasn't sure how it went, but then I met with HR to discuss salary. The next day, I heard it went well and was pending a final meeting with the head of engineering and reference checks before an offer. The head of engineering and I talked for 30 mins about product vision and some technical details. The day after that, I got the offer. Overall, the process felt transparent and fair.
