It was an easygoing interview. They asked a few questions about my experience and about which career path would be more suitable. There was also a cyber test for the cyber job scope. The interview was a group panel interview held online.

The interview process involves standard questions that are common across many jobs. It's more of a casual chat to get to know you better rather than a formal interview. It's pretty easy to get through; you just need to show your determination.

The first round was easy, it was a recruiter call where they asked about my background and some situational questions. The second interview had two interviewers, one from SAF and one from GovTech. The GovTech interviewer joined late and seemed to be walking while on the call. They asked some standard encryption/decryption questions but didn't really explore my five years of data science experience, which made me think they weren't fully aware of the role's requirements.

  • Can you name the two modes of encryption?

So basically there were two rounds of interviews. The first one was during BMT with an air force officer. The second one was after BMT, with the air force recruitment officer. If I got selected, I'd get a letter of offer shortly after. This all happens before you head to Officer Cadet School.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
  • How would you go about convincing someone significantly older and more experienced than you?
