Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Singapore Airlines.
Executive
The interview included an online assessment after the main interview. There were 3 interviewers: 2 from the team and 1 from HR. One interviewer was on their phone during the interview, and the HR person was unresponsive even after I followed up.
- What salary are you expecting?
Executive
I applied online through the SIA career portal and after a week, HR gave me a call for an interview. The interview was held at the SIA Training Center, where I met with the department manager and the VP of the department. The interview went well overall and the questions were easy, nothing unexpected. Following the interview, I completed an online test. A week later, I had a web interview with the HR manager. The questions were also easy, and she explained the benefits. About a week after that, I received an email stating my application was unsuccessful, which was surprising given the relaxed nature of the interview.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your motivation for joining SIA?
- What makes you want to transition from an engineering role to a management role?
- Could you elaborate on your experience as it pertains to the job description?
Executive
There were 2 rounds of interviews. The first was with HR and the second was with people from my department. Both were panel interviews. Round 1 was easy, but Round 2 was a bit tougher and included a mini case study, which I wasn't expecting. There was also a test after the first round. It felt like they were trying to lowball my salary even after I took a pay cut.
- Tell me about yourself.
