First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Simon-Kucher.
Data Scientist Consultant
The interview process was quite long, starting in Nov 2025. There were 2 interview rounds initially. The first one focused on a WTP question, and the second involved a director asking general questions. The final stage was in Jan 2026, which was an assessment with SQL questions. The questions themselves were simple, but unfortunately, I didn't perform well on them.
- Were there any questions about WTP?
- Did the director ask any general questions?
- Were there SQL questions on the online assessment?
Data Scientist
I went through 2 rounds for this role. It was mostly based on submitting a case study assignment. The first round had 2 Data Scientists where they asked about the Tree based algorithm used in the case study and Overfitting. They also asked about how price changes with relation to sales data changes with feature isolation. The second interview was with a senior manager. We spent a good amount of time on introductions and discussing the role, then I was given a case study about a Marketing mix model for a Tourism agency.
- What are your thoughts on Data Manipulation?
- What KPIs would you suggest for this case?
- In this scenario, what is your value proposition as a Data Scientist?
Data Scientist
The interview process was smooth, starting with an HR telephone screen, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager, and then a technical interview with a senior technical team member. Getting the initial HR interview back did take a while though.
- What makes you want to be a data scientist?
