Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process involved 5 interviews, tests, a lot of emails, and a few phone calls. I really enjoyed the interviews with the Senior Manager and Manager, they were very interesting and content-related. My impression of the company changed after a video call with HR from Germany two days before my final interview. It was an unpleasant, unprofessional, and somewhat disrespectful conversation. The HR lady questioned every position I held internationally, expressing dissatisfaction that my career path wasn't typical for Germany. She had my CV from the start and should have asked these questions earlier to save time. She was unhappy with my employment confirmations because they weren't like a German 'Zeugnis'. Most European countries only provide factual confirmations, whereas opinions about employees can be subjective and cause conflicts. She also pointed out my master's grade, which was good but apparently not sufficient for her, despite my 15 years of excellent experience. While I respect German rules, companies seeking international candidates shouldn't expect them to meet all German expectations. After that call, my enthusiasm and interest dropped significantly. During the final interview, the HR lady interrupted and distracted me a lot, which was unprofessional. This might reflect on the company or perhaps the HR department needs some training.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a three-part interview process. First, there was a phone interview with general questions. Then, an in-person interview covering personal and professional interests, 'standard questions', and an explanation of the company's organization. The third interview was for clarifying details and included a tour of the premises. The overall conversation was professional and friendly, with the head of the relevant workgroup and an HR representative involved. During the second interview, there was also an opportunity to chat privately with employees about working conditions. The salary was okay for graduates. I declined mainly because of the high travel requirements and a better offer elsewhere.
