First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SiliconExpert.
Team Leader
So the interview started with the interviewer telling me about the company's past and what they're working on now, and then about the jobs that are open. After that, I talked about myself, my current job, and what I do. Then, we just had an open discussion.
- Can you share instances of successful and unsuccessful managerial and technical choices you've made?
Quality Director
The interview process was focused solely on technical aspects. I had an interview with the Quality Director where we discussed general Quality topics, such as corrective action plan items, ISO 900, and templates. During this interview, the director mentioned that working in the factory might be challenging given my experience is primarily with engineers rather than laborers.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What experience do you have with templates?
- How do you handle working with laborers?
Java Software Developer
I applied online on arrow's website, then HR called me about a week after. A team leader contacted me later to set up an interview that was 1.5 hours long, done online with two engineers. The interview involved typical questions about Java, design patterns, threading, Spring, and databases. They asked general questions and then detailed follow-ups based on my answers, requiring in-depth knowledge. A few days later, another engineer scheduled a 30-minute manager interview with me. This interview had technical questions, but less so than the first, and focused more on career aspects. None of the interviews involved problem-solving, only theoretical questions. After waiting a couple of weeks and following up via email, I was told the position was no longer open.
- Can you list and explain some design patterns, including the rationale for their use?
- What are the primary advantages of using Spring?
- Could you define IOC?
Quality Control Engineer
I applied online and got a call from HR. Then I had a technical test and an IQ test, followed by an interview. The test focused on testing concepts and included two SQL questions. About three weeks later, I had another call for interviews with the team leader and team manager. Most of the questions were about my motivation for being a tester rather than a developer.
- Are you good at SQL?
