After applying on LinkedIn, I got an email from a recruiter for a phone interview. We hit it off, and she invited me for an on-site interview right away. I went in on May 1st for four 30-minute one-on-one interviews with people from the Communications department, and I felt great about them. Afterward, I emailed everyone to thank them. The recruiter replied, saying they all liked me and would update me by the end of the week. Nine days later, with no word, I asked for an update, and she said they were 'mulling things over.' After another 8 days of silence, I emailed again, and she let me know they decided to promote someone internally. The whole process took 17 days of me chasing them, and if I hadn't, I would have heard nothing. Super frustrating! If you apply, be prepared to wait weeks and do the follow-up yourself.

The interview process takes about a month, though I only went through one interview before I was out. I think they mentioned there were three interviews in total. I had some connections at the company, but I didn't do enough research on the company. Most people at SVB are really nice. Just remember they aren't like a typical bank and they dress casually in jeans. They don't really like traditional bankers, so don't present yourself that way. The employees are active on social media and really interested in tech companies. It's a good idea to call ahead because their office can be hard to find.

I had a phone call with the recruiter first. Then, about a week later, I got an email to meet with the manager and the rest of the team. I ended up meeting 5 people in total. After meeting the team, the recruiter called me back with the offer and internship details. The team was really nice and gave me good info about the company and the internship.
