First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Silicon Valley Bank.
Systems Analyst
I applied online and then a recruiter reached out. They were really nice and gave me a lot of info. Then I got invited for an onsite interview, but it was split into four separate phone interviews on different days, with interviewers in California and India. The first interview actually had no one show up, so the recruiter gave me a tour instead. The second and third interviews were good, and we talked about my previous work. The phone interview I was supposed to have got canceled, and nobody told me, which was pretty unprofessional.

Business Systems Analyst
The hiring process was really smooth. HR reached out twice, first for a screening and then to confirm my availability for the interviews. I had two phone interviews, followed by an in-person interview where I met with 8 employees. The entire experience felt very seamless. I was quite impressed by the end and really wanted the job. I received an offer within 5 days and am now happy to be part of the team.
- Can you walk me through a project you managed from beginning to end?
- Estimate the number of gas stations in Houston.
IT Analyst
The hiring process was a bit lengthy, but that was good. I interviewed with multiple teams in multiple states and got to spend quality time talking to many people. I feel like I got to know each and every person on the team and felt like they really wanted me there.
- Can you describe your skills and weaknesses?
