Behavioral Other

The interview process was pretty standard. It was mainly behavioral questions, with a few questions about the innovation industry and what excites me about it and working at SVB. The structure included 4 separate 30-minute interviews with different directors across the bank.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

This whole thing took about 1.5 months and had five virtual interviews, a big take-home task, and they actually checked my 3 references. It started with a recruiter and then an HR person at SVB did a quick screen. After that, I talked to the hiring manager and her whole team. They kept saying SVB has a great culture, super empathetic and chill, and that the job isn't too hard. Sounded nice, but the process was intense. Then SVB HR called about my salary expectations but wouldn't say if my number was in the ballpark. The hiring manager then sent over a large take-home assignment: write hypothetical client emails and turn a dataset into a presentation. After I sent that back, they asked for THREE references and contacted them all. Even after all that, I got rejected. No official word from SVB, just an email from my recruiter saying they went with someone else.

Behavioral Technical

I first had a screening at a college campus, then got a phone interview about 3 weeks later. After that, I had a Skype interview where I had to speak to a camera about why I wanted to work at SVB. The SuperDay was about 5 hours long, and I flew out to Boston. The whole process was great, except they don't reimburse you for anything, so be ready to pay for it all yourself. I only got a check for a sixth of the amount and my emails were ignored when I complained about the reimbursement they promised. That unfortunately tainted the whole experience.
