This was one of the worst initial job interviews I have ever been through. First, I had an initial HR call with a very rude person. Then, the actual interview was with a principal engineer. He started the interview abruptly, without any introductions, and spent about 15 minutes going through my resume, focusing on the negative aspects. Following that, he rushed through two technical questions that were not simple, expecting answers within 15-20 seconds. He was also pushy, asking follow-up questions that repeatedly broke my train of thought. He even commented that I seemed to know the answer but couldn't 'do the plot'. Overall, it felt like the interviewer was trying to fail me rather than assess my technical skills. My advice for interviewers at SiLabs is to give candidates a minute or two to think about the question and to stop interrupting them every 15 seconds with additional questions or tips, as this disrupts their thought process. Candidates will ask for clarification if needed.

It was a full day interview. Arrived the day before. Started at 9:00am. Had 6 technical interviews, all one-on-one. Each one lasted about an hour. Lots of whiteboard drawing to describe solutions. Very detailed problem-solving. Everyone was super nice.

I got through to a technical phone interview. The interviewer called me, but they weren't into discussing the company or the role much. I felt like they hadn't even looked at my resume, and the questions didn't really fit the job title, not a single RF question was asked.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Given a cascoded current mirror, could you plot the current?
  • Could you do an AC analysis of an NMOS transistor when it has a current source connected?
