Behavioral Presentation

This was the best interview experience I've had. The recruiter's communication was excellent from the start to the end. I felt informed, ready, and capable because of the resources and expectations given early. Even though the job wasn't a perfect match, I felt more enthusiastic about Signifyd's mission and the fraud industry afterwards.

So I had this HR phone screen first, she was great, went over the job, the company, how the interviews would go, and salary stuff. The plan was HR screen, then hiring manager video call, then a take-home project with a presentation, and finally a panel interview. HR was really good about setting up the next step with the hiring manager. During that call, we talked about my career history. They also had me do this intro pitch role-play, which felt a bit weird for this kind of job. I got feedback that my value prop wasn't fully covered. They seemed really focused on BI tools and Excel, which sounded more like data science than a typical CSM role. I only had about 5 minutes for my questions before the manager just left. No questions came up about managing relationships, renewals, cross-team projects, contracts, advocacy, or general payment stuff. Even though I've got 7 years in eCom payments and relationship management, they were looking for something different. Since I knew I messed up the intro pitch and didn't have the BI tool experience they wanted, I told HR I was withdrawing my application. HR didn't reply to that message but sent a rejection letter about a week later. If you're interviewing for this, be ready to talk about analytics, how you've used Excel and other data tools, and have that value prop elevator pitch down. That's where I stumbled. Having a commercial background or eCommerce payment experience is good, but it's not the main focus, at least not early on. It was a decent interview experience, nice company, just not the right fit for me. Wishing them the best.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty standard interview process: I started with a 30-minute call with a recruiter in the US, who was really nice. Then, I had a 30-minute call with the Hiring Manager. After that, I had three 30-minute interviews, one with a peer and two with managers. I didn't get to the next stage, but I think they usually do a presentation after that. I really liked the recruiter and the peer I spoke with. The management team, though, seemed totally unprepared and just threw random questions at me. They even asked about my marital status and if I have kids. There also seemed to be a big disconnect between the US and UK management regarding remote work and company culture. Oh, and all the senior leaders I interviewed with were white men.
