The interview process was pretty direct and had a technical focus. Make sure you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals like pipetting, preparing reagents, calibration, and lab math. Be prepared to dive deep into specific areas mentioned in the job description, like genome editing or protein purification. They'll want to know about techniques you've used in previous roles and how they apply to this job. Focus on the techniques most relevant to the role's requirements, like protein purification, and briefly mention others.

Recruiter contacted me and only gave me 24 hours notice for the in-person interview with the manager. Arrived for the interview and the manager didn't even know I was coming so the interview was uncomfortable and rushed. Didn't really ask me about me or my qualifications, pretty much talked at me about different areas of the department. He texted a supervisor who works under him to finish the interview so he could finish what he was doing. Overall I had a bad experience with this company. The communication was horrible and there was no organization. It has been over a month and they didn't even bother contacting me letting me know the outcome of the interview. Very unimpressed!

I was contacted by a recruiter who found my resume on Monster. They tried to set up a phone interview but I was out of the country and couldn't make it on the date they wanted. So, they scheduled an in-person interview instead. It took about 2 months from when the recruiter first reached out to the actual interview date. When I got there, they gave me a quick 15-minute tour of the place, showing me what the day-to-day stuff is like and mentioning the family-like work environment. They also introduced me to some random people, I guess to see how I'd interact socially. Then I had the actual interview with 4 people: the person who gave me the tour, the hiring manager, my potential direct supervisor, and one other person. The interview itself lasted around 45 minutes.
