I heard from Side via Hired and the entire interview process lasted about two weeks. It included a 45-minute chat with the head of Engineering, a take-home coding assignment, and a full day of virtual meetings via Google Hangouts where I'd be coding with the team. Finally, there was a call with HR, and I got a verbal offer two days later, followed by a written offer to sign and start the next Monday. The full day, while seeming intense, was actually pretty good; the team was super nice and easy to chat with. The coding tasks were practical and felt like normal work, and the team was fun and helpful to collaborate with. It wasn't like other interviews with abstract or obscure problems designed to stress you out.

First, there was a phone screen. Then, I got a take-home assignment. After that, they reviewed my code and asked me to pair program to add more functionality to the assignment. Overall, the interview process was great! It was fast and transparent, and the team made it super approachable because they were awesome and friendly.

Technical Coding

The process started with the usual screening, followed by a chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a take-home technical round that involved using GraphQL. Unfortunately, even though I finished the take-home, it wasn't quite what they were looking for, and I was rejected.
