First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sia.
Data Analyst
I had an initial call with HR, and then a subsequent call with a consultant. Both individuals were pleasant. The second stage involved a shared screen SQL interview. The SQL problems were generally considered easy to medium in difficulty, but the time constraint was tight, with only 20 minutes allocated to answer four questions. Each question involved multiple tables, and for the first question, there were four tables. A significant portion of my time was spent understanding the relationships between these tables to perform the necessary joins. This aspect, more than the SQL logic itself, seemed to be the most challenging part. Essentially, the SQL test appeared to be more of a speed assessment focused on quickly comprehending data structures and question requirements rather than pure problem-solving skills.

The interview process had 3 rounds. The first round was a phone interview with a senior manager. It felt easy, and I was asked several behavioral questions. The conversation was pleasant. The second round was an in-person interview with 3 senior consultants. The overall experience was good. They inquired about my career goals and ambitions. Although they mentioned providing feedback within two weeks, I received nothing even after sending an email. Approximately three weeks later, I was invited for a third-round interview. The third round was an in-person interview with 2 team managers. Both interviewers were late for the meeting, but the conversation went well. They asked relevant and technical questions, which I believe I answered correctly. The HR representative indicated she would send an offer as soon as possible, and we agreed on the salary. However, the HR later informed me that the position had been filled by someone else. The entire process took about two months to reach a final decision, and feedback was never provided on time. I felt disrespected, like a backup option.

Data Analyst Consultant
So far, two interviews have happened and I haven't gotten a single smile or apparent sympathy... I'm already hesitating to cut it short... The process has 4 interviews: 1 HR interview: quick intros and questions about the CV, technical interview 1: prepare a dashboard based on a case study, and then 1 other technical interview and 1 interview with a manager.
- Can you list the different types of SQL joins?
- What sets SIA apart from other consulting firms?
