Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shimmick Corporation.
Engineer
It was kind of stressful and misleading compared to the actual requirements for the job. There were lots of people who interviewed each person so it was like musical chairs for an interview.
- Did you have questions regarding requirements on your resume?
Engineer
It was a great time and they know how to have fun. There were about 10 short interviews with two or more people, and everyone they pretty much just asked "Tell me about yourself." Later they took us to the Lakers game, where you were able to network with the guys more. Overall it was a great experience, but this company isn't for everyone. I kinda got the feel that they try to make it out to be fun all the time and work isn't like that. Overall great guys, fun atmosphere, not for everyone, but check them out.
- Can you share your top three strengths and your top three weaknesses?
Project Engineer
It was a half-day process with multiple rounds where I interviewed with 8-10 different people. They split into rooms in pairs, and I switched rooms every 10-15 minutes. This was the final round, and it also included a plant tour.
- What lessons have you learned from your engineering experience?
