First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shift4.
Senior Software Engineer
So, the first interview was over Zoom. They asked me about my current job, my strengths, my weaknesses, and another professional question. After that, they said they were moving me to the next stage and would set up a working environment for it. The second interview was also a Zoom meeting, and it was a technical interview. They sent me a question and I had to write code for it. There were two team leads in the meeting, which was nice. They told me they were continuing with me and would call to set up the next stage. But then, after about a week and a half of no contact, they emailed to say they had gone with someone else. It felt pretty disrespectful and inconsiderate.
- Could you tell me about your current job responsibilities?
- What would you say are your biggest strengths?
- And what about your weaknesses?
Software Engineer
Scheduling might take a bit, but once things get moving, it's super quick. HR will get in touch for an initial screening and then set up a technical and a managerial round. Be prepared, the interview can get pretty technical.
- Coding questions
- SQL questions
- Walkthrough of your resume
Software Engineer
It was very straightforward. Behavioral and Technical questions from two hiring managers. I got an offer however, the pay offered was far below average for the city I will be working in.
- What are some simple JavaScript questions?
- Can you provide some scenario based questions?
