This week I interviewed for a BizOps Analyst role in Herzliya. It was an in-person interview, which is unusual these days. Mostly, HR led the conversation, reviewing my resume and work history, but they focused on experiences unrelated to the BizOps field. The team lead was there but didn't say much. The interview didn't feel very professional; there were no relevant questions asked to gauge my analytical or business skills. Ultimately, I received the standard rejection email stating they'd found other candidates. It was pretty disappointing and felt like a waste of time.

It was a 3 stage interview process. First HR, then the Department Manager, and finally the Director and their team. It's not an easy process, you need to be ready for all questions. My advice is to be prepared and do your research.

So, the first interview was over Zoom. They asked me about my current job, my strengths, my weaknesses, and another professional question. After that, they said they were moving me to the next stage and would set up a working environment for it. The second interview was also a Zoom meeting, and it was a technical interview. They sent me a question and I had to write code for it. There were two team leads in the meeting, which was nice. They told me they were continuing with me and would call to set up the next stage. But then, after about a week and a half of no contact, they emailed to say they had gone with someone else. It felt pretty disrespectful and inconsiderate.

The interview process involved an initial HR screening call, followed by a take-home task. This task had two components: first, some algorithm challenges on HackerRank, and second, building a UI based on a Figma mockup. I only got feedback on the Figma part, not the algorithm exercises. The feedback on the Figma project was quite unusual. For instance, they saw using a third-party library for number validation negatively, whereas in a real project, using well-tested libraries is standard practice to avoid bugs. I also simplified the number of font types used from the provided three to two, explaining my reasoning for this shortcut in the project description, but this was also viewed negatively. Despite adding comprehensive tests, the reviewer called them 'basic' without elaboration. The responsive design was deemed 'okay' without specific feedback, though I felt I matched the mockup accurately.
