I had two interviews. First, I spoke with a recruiter, and then she immediately set me up with two managers for the next day. That interview was more in-depth, but it wasn't too bad. They mostly asked about my experience and how I'd handle specific insurance rejections, along with some 'tell me a time when...' questions. I sent a thank-you email later that day. The recruiter called the next day to offer me the job.

Shields HR contacted me to set up and conduct an initial screening interview. This first call was quick and easy. The HR recruiter then contacted me again (on the same day, I think) to schedule another interview with the current Tech BA Team Lead. This was also set up and happened very fast. I was then scheduled pretty quickly for a 3rd interview with the Tech BA Manager, which also happened fast. In total, I had 4 interviews scheduled, all within one week.

After I applied, the recruiter got back to me very quickly. Even though there were several interview rounds, the whole thing moved fast. The recruiter kept me in the loop about everything happening and always responded to my messages. This is how an interview process should work, regardless of whether the company ends up choosing someone else. It's better to let the applicant know what's going on instead of leaving them hanging. I was really impressed with how professional everyone was throughout this entire experience.

I was upfront about needing at least my current salary, which I shared early on. Despite this, I went through a technical assessment and six interviews only to find out they couldn't meet my salary requirement. They came back with an offer of $115k plus a 10% bonus. Communication was really disorganized, both internally and externally. The interviewers weren't aligned, and the recruiter forgot previous discussions and missed follow-ups she promised. When I pointed this out, the team questioned my ability to handle a fast-paced environment, implying this lack of organization was typical at Shields.
