The interview process used to be a single three-hour session, but now it's broken down into three 30-minute interviews. They really want you to use the STAR method for your answers every time: situation/task, action, and result. They then rank your answers.

After applying online, I got a call to schedule a Zoom interview with the hiring manager. He then had me complete some online skills tests. Following that, I was asked to travel to their headquarters, which is about an hour away. Once there, I had four separate 30-minute one-on-one interviews. They mentioned I was one of the top two candidates, but the next morning they called to say they decided to go with the other person. They also mentioned they were looking for a male candidate, which I am not.

Behavioral

My experience interviewing with Shelter Insurance was pretty bad, right from the start. I spoke with three interviewers, and one of them was just not professional at all. She was rude and dismissive, which made the whole long interview feel like a drag. Her lack of professionalism was such a turn-off that I was actually glad I didn't get the job offer.
