First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shaw Communications.
Customer Service Representative
My employer was really nice and waited patiently for me to finish the resume review, and afterwards, I explained the reason behind why I wanted to be an intern at Shaw. It was a group discussion.
- Can you describe a challenge you've faced and how you managed to overcome it?
Customer Service Representative
First you have an interview with Manpower, the recruiting company. Then it's group interviews where you'll do problem solving through survival scenarios. They're looking for creativity, rationality, and personality in your answers, and it's a chance to show your sense of humor. They also see how well you work in a group. The next part is a one on one interview which is a bit more serious. They ask all the standard questions and you'll need to give examples of how you reacted in past work related situations. It isn't too tough overall.
- Can you give me three words that describe your personality?
Customer Service Representative
the recruiter was very unprofessional, they offered me $18/h, I said I expected $23/h, then they offered $21/h. I said it wasn't what I was looking for but I would take it for now and negotiate a year later. the recruiter called me back saying the best they can do is $18 which was the initial offer. They are bad at negotiation and unprofessionally replied to emails. They gave false expectations and left a bad taste. I didn't feel valued as an employee.
- How flexible are you with your schedule, and are you available to work on weekends?
