First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sharp HealthCare.
Family Nurse Practitioner
Started with a recruiter call, then did a phone screen. Had about six or seven interviews in total. One was a telephone interview with the supervising physician. After that, I had an in-person interview with two physicians. Then a telephone interview with the department chairs. Also a telephone interview with the CMO. And I got a tour with the supervising physician.
- What makes you want to work in this particular department?
Registered Respiratory Therapist
It takes a long time for them to get back to you after you apply, so long you might forget about it. The interviews themselves aren't that long though. They also took their sweet time getting back to me after the interview. Even though they said I did great and I'd hear good things, it felt like they were just toying with me.
- What's your experience with children like?
- Can you discuss your technical experience?
- Can you discuss your non-technical experience?
Financial Analyst
The process started with a presentation about the company and its operations, followed by technical and behavioral questions. The interviewers were very welcoming, which helped ease the tension. They focused a lot on understanding how my skills could directly contribute to ongoing projects. I felt the company values innovation and teamwork, which made me even more interested in joining the team. The interview was a great learning experience, regardless of the final outcome.
- What are your greatest strengths?
Lead Engineer
I went through a really long (10 weeks!) and ultimately disappointing interview process with Sharp for a Lead Engineer contract role that might turn permanent. It started with a nice recruiter, and the job sounded good with flexibility and possible full-time, even with less pay. But man, the process was a pain with delays and communication hiccups. It took a whole month just to get the first interview scheduled, which made me wonder about their organization. The first chat with the director went great, super positive and fun, talking tech and personal stuff, going over time without noticing. I felt good about it. Then, things got a bit strange. Scheduling the next interview took 3 weeks. The recruiter was as confused as I was about the delay, saying they weren't looking at anyone else and had approval to hire a contractor. When I finally got an email about the next round, they were initially strict about times and seemed annoyed I couldn't just drop everything, even though I had other commitments! The technical interview also didn't go as planned. Instead of the promised panel of architects and senior engineers, only the director showed up. He was less warm and engaging this time around. Even though I was ready with questions, architecture slides, demo code, lambda function optimizations, and CI/CD examples, the technical talks just didn't land. There was hardly any interaction or feedback, which made it awkward. After the interview, I just got an email saying I 'failed' without any details. My requests for feedback were ignored, which was a bummer. For someone senior, feedback is key, and their silence felt dismissive and unprofessional. So, overall, not a great experience. It left me with more questions than answers and a bad feeling. The slow communication, rigid scheduling, change in attitude, disorganized approach, and altered interview dynamic were all major red flags. For a company looking to fill a lead contractor role, Sharp surprisingly lacked efficiency and basic professional courtesy.
