I applied online and then reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn. The interview process consisted of two interviews back-to-back on the same day. I spoke with the hiring manager and another peer manager. Both interviews were focused on understanding my background, my approach to consumer insights, and how I collaborate with cross-functional teams. The interviews were conversational and based on real examples from my past work.

I interviewed at SharkNinja in 2021. I was a bit nervous going into the interview because I had just left a toxic work environment and had read the Shark Ninja company reviews which seemed to highlight numerous negative experiences. While in the interview, a higher up at the company said to me: "I just want to make sure you understand what you're getting into." To me, this comment seemed like a red flag. I ended up receiving a job offer and took the weekend to think about it. I sent a polite email declining the offer and didn't receive a response back from the talent manager. I know I am technically not owed a response, but I found it to be very strange to not respond or want to understand more about why someone would decline the offer.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I reached out to the recruiting team after seeing a post from a former colleague on LinkedIn who now works at the company. Faye, the talent acquisition manager handling my application, arranged an initial interview with the hiring manager for the role I was interested in. After this first 30-minute chat, I was given a design challenge, and then a follow-up interview was set up with four other team members in various positions at the company. These were 30-minute meetings spread over two hours. After that, I got a job offer.
