Sales Development Representative
I applied through Indeed, and directly on Sezzle's site I believe. It was 4 weeks before I heard anything back initially, I actually thought I never even made it past the initial screening, but I didn't try and reach anyone who could have given me an update before I was on step 3. After my first interview, process moved quickly. 1) emailed wonderlic test (like an IQ / ACT style test + personality test) 2) Write a cold email 'take home test' typical for an SDR role 3) submit a 60 second video 'creative elevator pitch' for Sezzle 4) Interview with SDR manager, AEs 5) Interview with Sales Leadership (VP sales, Sales Director
- Solid tech sales questions for an SDR; Why sales, Why Sezzle, Sales Process/experience etc - along with normal interview questions.
- No weird questions from left field.
- Dress well, but conversational interview with the goal of getting to know you and fit with Sezzle.
Sales Development Representative
After applying for a Sales Development Representative role at Sezzle, I was asked to take a very long IQ test with over 300 questions, which felt like it was testing my ability to take a test rather than my job skills. I'm qualified with a sales track record and would have been an asset, but the unprofessional hiring practices were a turn-off. I wouldn't recommend Sezzle because their IQ test is unprofessional and a waste of time. I urge them to rethink their hiring process and find better ways to assess candidates. The job market favors employers now, making it unfair to expect long assessments just to be considered, and Sezzle's IQ test is a perfect example of this time-wasting practice that doesn't ensure they hire the best. The overall hiring process was also disorganized and unprofessional. I was very disappointed with Sezzle; their hiring practices are a waste of time and disrespectful.
- Could you please complete this assessment so we can evaluate your IQ?
Sales Development Representative
First, there was a Wonderlic test that took about 30 minutes to assess aptitude and personality. Then, a take-home assignment was given, which involved writing a mock cold email. After that, I had to record a video of myself giving an elevator pitch for the company. Unfortunately, after all that effort, I was ghosted with no response at all. I really think they should at least send a quick update after all that.
- Record a 30-60 second video of yourself doing an elevator pitch for Sezzle.
