I applied for a staff accountant role I saw on a job board. The hiring manager called me about a week later. We had a quick chat about my experience, and then they invited me for an interview the next week. I interviewed with the hiring manager, and they said I'd need to meet with upper management as well. I haven't heard back since the interview, and my follow-up call wasn't returned.

I went through a video interview and then three more interviews. They were responsive at first, but after the last one, I never heard back. I emailed them to check on the status and got no reply at all. Weeks went by without any update, rejection, or even a simple reply, which felt like being ghosted after I put in so much time and effort. I know hiring can take time, but candidates deserve respect. A quick update would have been appreciated. My advice for management is to communicate better with candidates by being clear about expectations and ensuring everyone gets an update when the process is over.
