Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SES.
Account Manager
The interview process had two rounds. First, I had a phone call with John, the manager. Then, I went in person for another interview at a coffee shop. Both interviews felt like conversations where I was selling myself. They seemed eager to hire, prioritizing filling roles over specific skills.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- Can you share your experience working in a team?
- Are you familiar with direct marketing?
Account Manager
I had a 10 minute chat with an HR director about my background and how I am as a person. Then, I stayed for another hour with a trainer who took me for coffee and we talked a lot about the job, what I'd be doing, the company's structure, and pay/benefits. He asked about my education and why I think I'd be a good fit. They called me later that day with an offer.
- How will your previous experience contribute to your success in this role?
Account Manager
I had a quick chat with HR that lasted less than 5 minutes. Afterward, I was invited to a longer, one-hour interview at a coffee shop nearby. It seemed like this was offered to everyone, even someone who wasn't dressed professionally and didn't have a resume. The interviewer and the staff were really nice though. This is definitely a sales role, not marketing.
- Can you tell me about your experience in sales and marketing?
