First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ServiceMaster Brands.
Intern
I emailed my resume to the recruiter and they got back to me in two days to set up a phone interview. During the interview, the recruiter was unprofessional and spoke to me condescendingly, as if I were a child, and seemed surprised by my management experience while in college. She promised to follow up within a week and look into a conflict of interest, but neither happened. She didn't respond until I reached out much later. My male friend applied for a different internship and was interviewed by the same recruiter, who treated him much more professionally. While he was interviewing, I emailed the recruiter about my conflict of interest. Shortly after my friend's interview, she emailed me saying they decided not to move forward with me, claiming she was just out of a meeting. I suspected she lied about the meeting and about responding within a week, and also about looking into the conflict of interest. I was also upset about being spoken to disrespectfully, especially as an experienced woman in college. The recruiter never responded to my request for feedback, and I received the same rejection notice again three weeks later. My friend was also told he'd hear back within a week, but it's been a month with no response, and he's accepted another offer. This experience has negatively impacted my view of ServiceMaster, despite my past positive experiences with the company.
- Can you share an experience where you were in a leadership position and what you took away from it?
Intern
I had a phone interview with the recruiter first, then an in person interview with the recruiter and someone else, followed by a phone interview with my supervisor. After that, I got the offer.
- Can you describe a situation where you were in charge of a team and explain your actions?
- What skills and experiences do you possess?
- Could you provide a brief personal introduction?
Intern
I had a phone interview and then an in person interview. The questions were all behavioral and pretty straightforward. Each interview was about 30 minutes long. Honestly, it felt like a really easy process.
- Tell me about a significant challenge you've encountered and your approach to resolving it.
