The corporate HR team first reached out to ask some initial questions to see if my application would be passed along to the hiring manager. If they were interested, they would have called back to set up an interview. I'm not sure about Serta's process since the first time I applied in March, they told me hiring was put on hold. I reapplied six months later, and they got back in touch and I interviewed with two different people. Both times, it felt like they had already decided who they wanted before the interview even started, but they still went through the entire process. This doesn't seem like a place for professionals because the people I met weren't very professional. I got the feeling they're not open-minded at the Houston plant and want someone who just follows orders.

We'll go over slides on the projector and you'll fill out some paperwork. We'll talk about which department you might end up in and what that involves. Then, you'll have 48 hours to submit your drug screen. It takes about a week, and then we'll give you your start date if we decide to offer you the job.

They had a lot of interviews, at least four different ones, which was a new record for me as an employee. The whole process felt disorganized and outdated, and they even used old equipment. Scheduling was always last minute, or I'd find out about it right before it happened.
