Site Lead
I had a virtual panel interview for a position similar to the one I applied for, with the direct supervisor. Before that, I had a phone screen. Less than 10 questions were asked in total. I had the chance to ask questions at the end. It was a friendly interview and very informative.
- How would you handle a situation where a student was disrupting the class?
Operations Manager
The interview process was straightforward. I was given one week's notice before the interview. It was a formal, on-site interview. The interviewer was a bit late. Two people from the company were there. They asked standard questions about the job's responsibilities. I was told I'd hear back in at least a week, but I got a call within 24 hours saying I got the job offer.
- Can you detail your understanding of legislative building maintenance?
- Describe your strategy for managing contractor health and safety.
- How proficient are you with Microsoft Office?
Operations Manager
The first interview was scheduled and then cancelled last minute, only to be rescheduled shortly before it was due to start. Once it did happen, it began casually before moving into competency-based questions, typical for many companies. The interview was with the HR Director and the Line Manager. It felt pretty relaxed. I was then invited for a second interview, which was rescheduled multiple times. Eventually, a date was set, and surprisingly, it was with the same two people again. The second interview seemed to mix competency questions with operational skills in a confusing way, and some really strange questions were asked that had no real answer. Overall, a very peculiar process.
- In a major London incident where all communication methods (phones, internet, pagers, SMS, radios, etc.) are down, how would you contact your field team?
